Fold Lounge Chair by Alain Gilles

Belgian designer Alain Gilles has created the Fold lounge chair. The design of the chair was based on the idea of bending or folding two sheets of paper to create a backrest and a seat. The backrest and seat structure are made of woven cane pulled over a wooden frame. The functional pieces are connected and supported by a metal structure.

The lounge chair is available either in the full cane version, or a partially caned version in which the seat is treated as an upholstered element.
