Canadian architectural practice L’Abri have built a small camping house for the Poisson Blanc Regional Park, located north of Ottawa. The triangular design of the forest retreat is a reinterpretation of the legendary A-frame design which was very popular in North America in the 1950s. The simple design is very functional, environment-friendly and accommodates two-to-four people. The off-the-grid building gets its electricity by a solar panel.
On the first level, there is a kitchen and multi-functional table that turns into an extra bed. The large window offers an uninterrupted view of the surrounding forest and reservoir. An inclined ladder leads to the bed. The interior walls are covered with fir plywood.
